Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is purchasing merchandise mandatory?
A: No, purchasing merchandise is completely optional. No-one is obligated to make a purchase.
Q: Why are there different company logos on different products?
A: The ‘silver’ sponsorship package offers a company the great opportunity to sponsor one of the items of MDFC merchandise, for example the hoodies. In return, they will have their logo reproduced on that one product line, but it will not be featured across our entire range of merchandise, hence there could be different sponsor logos on different items.
Q: I know someone that wants to sponsor an item for a specific team, who should they get in touch with?
A: As part of our ethos as an inclusive club, and inline with the MDFC sponsorship packages, this is not permitted. Please pass the details of the person who has shown an interest in sponsorship (name, company, contact details) to the team at [email protected] who can then have a chat with them. We may well be able to offer an alternative sponsorship option that meets their requirements and maintains our club values.
Q: I can’t afford to buy merchandise, but the rest of the players in my child’s team have got stuff . This doesn’t seem fair.
A: As a club whose core values are community and inclusivity, we want everyone to have the same opportunities. To stress, no one should feel pressurised into purchasing merchandise, it is entirely optional and has been developed purely as a new income stream for the club. If you have a concern or worry, please contact the Club Treasurer at [email protected] who you can talk to you about this in more detail.
Q: What if I want to order a hoodie, but I can’t pay now?
A: Only items that are paid for in full at the time of you placing your order will be fulfilled. There will be three opportunities to place orders during the season, so if you aren’t in a position to pay in the current window then you will have the option to make a purchase in the next window.
Q: What merchandise will be available?
A: Based on responses from last season’s MDFC parents & supporters survey, we will be offering hoodies, tracksuit tops, beanie hats and golfing umbrellas to start with. Based on your feedback and suggestions, we will then look to see how we can grow and diversify what we offer.
Q: Is the club making a profit on merchandise?
A: Yes, there is a mark-up on the cost that the club buys the merchandise at to ensure that we are able to make a profit on the items we sell. 100% of the profits go to the club’s fundraising pot, which covers costs that benefit everyone who plays for MDFC, for instance it may cover a cost increase when we purchase new equipment or kit, which will then mitigate a potential need to raise registration fees in the future.
Q: What happens to the sponsorship money from merchandise?
A: All the money gained through sponsorship goes into the club’s fundraising pot, which covers costs that benefit everyone who plays for MDFC, for instance it may cover a cost increase when we purchase new equipment or kit, which will then mitigate a potential need to raise registration fees in the future.
Q: Can merchandise be personalised?
A: Yes, personalisation will be offered for the hoodies and tracksuit tops. At the time of placing your order, you will have the opportunity to request to have initials printed onto the front of the clothing, for a small charge.
Q: What is the refund policy?
A: If an item is faulty when you receive it, please contact the team at [email protected] or complete the Contact Us form immediately. If the item doesn’t fit, a wrong size was ordered, or you have changed your mind – I’m afraid we won’t be able to provide a refund, so please take the time to double check your order details before you complete the purchase. We’re a community club run by volunteers, we’re not Amazon!
